Dan McGinn is a Council Bluffs native who graduated from Saint Albert High School in 1979 followed by earning a Bachelor of Science and Arts Degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1986 Dan graduated from Creighton Law School and practiced law with the McGinn Law firm until becoming a prosecutor with the Pottawattamie County Attorney’s office in 1992. During that time Dan prosecuted felonies, misdemeanors, and specialized in prosecuting sexual abuse crimes and crimes against children during his 23 year career. Dan also has conducted training for social workers, law enforcement, medical professionals and mental health professionals for the Project Harmony Child Advocacy Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Dan’s areas of practice include workers compensation, bankruptcy, personal injury, family law and criminal law. Dan is married to Patricia Salvo-McGinn, a mental health professional and partner at Horizon Therapy Group. Dan has two sons, John, also a Saint Albert graduate and currently a junior at Marquette University in Milwaukee, and Andrew, a junior at Lewis Central High School.
